Although I have been banished from ds106 I know that Jim Groom will one day forgive me. I am only fighting for ds106 and when his sanity returns he may even thank me…
in the meantime I have completed my second audio assignment – a musical interview with Jim Groom about the ds106 course.
Interviewing jimgroom by loumcgill
My son came up with the idea of using only REM songs so here is our first one… made using youtube clips taken into media streamclip and audio selections saved. these were brought into audacity and then I recorded my own voice over it.
The REM songs used were:
It’s the end of the world as we know it
Shiny Happy People
The Great Beyond
Bittersweet me
Nightswimming
Leaving New York
Lou,
Speaking as Not Jim Groom, I just want to say this was brilliant, and you son;s choice of infusing it with R.E.M. was perfect. I would rather chew my leg off than have Jim Groom as a professor, at the same time there is something to the idea at the heart of ds106 that power can and should be distributed, I just wish Jim Groom would get that message himself before it is too late. Before he disappears.
Hi not jimgroom
I’m glad you liked it – I just want the old Jim back – the one that believes in the strength of collective ds106. I think he will return anew.
Brilliant. So well done! I love your accent, I felt like I was listening to the BBC.
Thanks Stella – That’s funny to me as I have quite a strong regional accent (northern) so would not imagine that I would remind someone of the BBC. I might try to do a bbc accent in one of my audio efforts.
Jim Groom is the side of the light repent!
well I think the real jim groom is on the side of the light but the one we saw the other day is deffo a baddy.
