My partner Tim Gray has a new photographic exhibition opening today (15th October 2012) at the Glasgow Mackintosh Church as part of the First Creative Mackintosh Festival.
The Exhibition shows some of the photographs from Tim’s End of History photographic project which records and documents the portraits of re-enactors involved in living history societies throughout the UK. I love this series of portraits – not only do they capture some amazingly interesting faces, they also capture just how authentic these re-enactors are. It’s not only the attention to detail in the clothes that is amazing, but their commitment to making the photographs as authentic as possible. No cheesy grins but the kinds of poses that would have been adopted when they had their photographs taken back in the day.
If you can get along to the exhibition then let us know what you think. The church is open every week day from 10am to 5pm and from 1pm-4pm at the weekends and entry is free. If you have never been to the Mackintosh Church then you should make an effort to get along there – as it is an incredible building. The exhibition is just part of a series of Festival activities planned during October.
