What a thoughtful post! The idea of disappearing physically but staying visible digitally reminds me of the very first music video I recall seeing: Aha's "Take on me", which was part film and part animation. I think of you occupying both of those worlds simultaneously. How cool!

Hi Lou - Very perceptive and entertaining :). Must mean you are an expert at something. It's a bit late for me to be IN this conversation, which is typical, and probably why I'll never achieve expert status myself. Which leads me to suggest adding
"and be quick abut it" at points 4, 8 and 14.

[...] Hopefully My Story of O(pen) will help give a sense of what "open practice" means. Its a phrase that me and some of the folk I work with have started using as an umbrella term that covers a lot. Trust your instinct about what you think it might mean. This quote from Lou McGill sums it up well: "By Open practices I mean a broad range of practices which have an ‘open’ philosophy, intention or approach [...] Informal and formal open practice takes place within wider societal contexts which are evolving rapidly. Open practices take place in, and are enabled by, a highly connected socially networked environment" (see Lou McGill's original post). [...]

Made by Pirates 4 pirates.... brilliant stuff. Top marks for creativity and imagination. I know it takes hours and hours to source stuff, get a concept, and get it all happening... The only thing I need to know is when is the next episode? A sheer delight...

This scam happened to my daughter last week, she lost 500 pounds to someone who purchased her iMac, turned up to pick it up then reversed the Paypal payment and said the account had been hacked. Turns out we know of another person in the same town who was scammed by the same account name (Christopher Bonham/David Hodgson ebay account clublite45) a day later.

We reported all this to Paypal and have reported it to the police, but surprise surprise Paypal refunded the scam account his money today because my daughter hadn't refunded them herself. Paypal stinks, I hate them! My daughter is young with a small baby and is really hard up, she had to sell her computer to make ends meet and this happened.

Please spread the word on how awful they are! I will never use them again that's for sure.

Thanks, yes I have because the seller is still registered under that name and although not selling anything at the moment could do this to others. However they have said they would not be able to get my money back as I went through the paypal claim, but they may get rid of his account. Of course it's easy enough to set up a new one.
